Completed Project:
Project Type: Intensive Shrimp Farm
Location: Costa Rica, Central America
Area: 8.2 hectares
Target Capacity: 200 tons/year
Harvest Size: 50–70 count/kg
Target Markets: EU, Netherlands

Costa Rica is a country where three-quarters of the land is covered by natural forests, and its agricultural sector remains largely undeveloped. This is the country's first high-density shrimp farm, opening a new direction for the local shrimp industry.
The farm is designed with twelve 1,500 $\text{m}^3$ outdoor ponds and four 600 $\text{m}^3$ greenhouse ponds.
It adopts a two-stage farming model, equipped with a pure oxygen injection system and long-shaft paddlewheel aerators—a signature technique of Vietnamese shrimp farming.
To meet Net Zero carbon standards, the project requires leasing an additional 4 hectares for mangrove reforestation.

Unlike in Vietnam, labor costs in Costa Rica increase significantly for overtime and night shifts when workers stay on-site. Therefore, primary farm operations are engineered to be completed during standard business hours. Additionally, electricity costs are extremely high (approximately 0.16 USD / kWh / equivalent to 4,000 VND), requiring comprehensive energy-efficiency solutions to eliminate waste.
